Catalog Description:
Shakespeare's poetry, tragedies and comedies. The study of his poetic Introduction to Tudor poetry and drama, to the Elizabethan stage, and to Shakespeare. Study of selected sonnets by Shakespeare. Study of selected comedy, history, and late romance plays by Shakespeare.

Learning Outcomes:
By the conclusion of the course students will be able to:
1. Critically analyse the verbal, generic, structural, and dramatic qualities of Shakespeare’s plays.

3. Effectively utilize contemporary criticism, original reception, text, and history as ways of providing a context for understanding the plays.
