Percy B. Shelley's "A Defence of Poetry" was translated by our students Azranur Elif Sucuoğlu and Çağrı Teoman Kars and published under the title "Bir Şiir Savunması" on Shelley's 230th birthday on August 4, 2021.

We are happy to announce our first TEDU-LAD Research Project!
The research team will work on two separate corpora comprised of texts selected from children’s literature in English and English Romantic poetry. Researchers will analyse the stylistic features of the selected texts with the help of computational corpus tools, and interpret the findings, employing the relevant literary theories (i.e. feminism, ecocriticism and so forth). The research project will be led by Dr. Hakan Cangır (Ankara University) and Dr. Taner Can (TEDU).
On the topics of animal experiments, pet shops and abuse of animals in the entertainment industry, our student Buse Kılıç made a speech titled "How We Abuse Them" on 21 November 2020, Saturday, at 20.00. At the event, the causes of animal abuse, its current types and the responsibilities of the individuals to prevent it were discussed.
