The department of English Language and Literature, in the light of TED University's understanding of education, acts with a student-centered and interactive education method. With this method, students take an active role in learning through practices such as group work, in-class discussion and presentation.
The language of instruction in the Department of English Language and Literature is English. Students who do not have sufficient knowledge of English will start the department program after gaining English proficiency by following the special language program organized in accordance with the requirements of the philology department at TED University English Language School.
In keeping with our innovative approach to education, our curriculum includes selected works of English and American literature, as well as works of literature written in English in other countries. In-departmental elective courses that offer students a rich spectrum in the field of culture and literature also include courses in the fields of world literature, popular culture and cinema, as well as film adaptations and musical works.
By taking common courses from different departments, students build a solid foundation in basic science and academic skills. In their final year, they present a graduation thesis, in which they will demonstrate the theoretical knowledge and language skills acquired over the course of four years.
